By Nikolay L. Kazanskiy, Vsevolod A. Kolpakov

This reference e-book concentrates on microstructuring surfaces of optical fabrics with directed fluxes of off-electrode plasma generated through high-voltage fuel discharge and constructing tools and kit relating to this method. It covers theoretical and experimental stories at the electric and actual houses of high-voltage gasoline discharges used to generate plasma outdoors an electrode hole. a brand new category of tools and units that makes it attainable to enforce a chain of approaches for fabricating diffraction microstructures on huge structure wafers is usually discussed.

Geotechnical Hazards from Large Earthquakes and Heavy Rainfalls

This booklet is a set of papers awarded on the foreign Workshop on Geotechnical traditional risks held July 12–15, 2014, in Kitakyushu, Japan. The workshop was once the 6th within the sequence of Japan–Taiwan Joint Workshops on Geotechnical dangers from huge Earthquakes and Heavy Rainfalls, held less than the auspices of the Asian Technical Committee No.

Biosilica in Evolution, Morphogenesis, and Nanobiotechnology: Case Study Lake Baikal

Lake Baikal is the oldest, inner most and such a lot voluminous lake on the earth, comprising one 5th of the World’s unfrozen clean water. It hosts the top variety of endemic animals recorded in any freshwater lake. until eventually lately it remained enigmatic why one of these excessive range advanced within the remoted Lake Baikal.

The Diary of Queen Maria Carolina of Naples, 1781-1785: New Evidence of Queenship at Court

This paintings deals a brand new portrayal of Queen Maria Carolina of Naples as a girl of energy with weaknesses and objectives, and analyzes the Queen's activities, from her political offerings to her alliance and betrayals. A cautious exam of the interval (1781-1785) coated through the diary indicates that the everyday life of the Queen and gives key proof of her political acumen and her own relationships.

Quick measurements take much less time and use relatively simple, affordable instruments—an advantage that allows surface cleanliness to be measured directly at the workstation. But to give reliable information, such instruments need to be calibrated by the use of substrate surfaces with reference properties. This makes measurements much more complex because in this case individual reference surfaces are required for each type of contamination. The use of quick-measurement instruments also necessitates cleaning the indenter probe’s surface with special techniques [18] or using special liquids as a source of information about the surface cleanliness of substrates [19,20].

This cloud is an effective source of free electrons for generating a gas discharge in the anode-hole area. Because the space between the cathode and the anode is not sufficiently large for electrons to gain energy adequate to ionize the residual-gas atoms, ionization takes place outside the anode surface—that is, gas discharge takes place outside the device’s electrodes. 3–1 kV. Generating a gas-discharge plasma flux outside the device’s electrodes eliminates the dependence of plasma parameters on the surface area (the loading effect).

In diffraction at one slit, 90% [1,2] of light-flux intensity spreads toward the observation point within the angle α = 2λ/b, where λ is the wavelength of light and b is the slit width. The maxima of the second, third, and k-th orders do not have a notable effect when added to the first-order maxima; therefore the minimum allowable grating constant is determined from the condition that first orders of diffraction from adjacent slits not intersect: 36 Optical Materials T= 2λR . 063R; that is, the grating constant has a directly proportional dependence on the distance between the grating and the radiation receiver’s screen.
